We routinely check our eyes & teeth. Why not our ears?

Everyone experiences ear treatment differently. The sound and sensation of the equipment can feel perfectly manageable to one person but uncomfortable or overwhelming to another. Tolerance can also change over time, particularly for people with sensitive ears or certain sensory, cognitive or other impairments - even if they have previously managed the procedure without difficulty. ​Your comfort and safety will always come first. We will explain what is happening, work gently, offer pauses where helpful and do everything we reasonably and clinically feel is appropriate to help you feel at ease. If we identify at the beginning of the appointment that the procedure is unlikely to be tolerated or appropriate, we may jointly decide not to begin treatment. In this situation, only the consultation fee will apply. ​ If treatment has begun but later needs to be stopped because of discomfort, reduced tolerance or clinical safety, we will stop. As the treatment appointment and clinical service will already have been provided, the full home-visit fee will apply - even if we are unable to complete the wax removal. Please bear this possibility in mind when booking. However, be assured that we will never continue a procedure that is causing undue distress or that we no longer consider comfortable, appropriate or clinically safe. We will always do our best for every patient and provide suitable advice about the next steps.
