No two patients are the same, which is why we've built our service around the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Many of our patients appreciate the comfort, familiarity and convenience of being treated in their own home. Others benefit from a little more time, reassurance or practical support throughout their appointment.
Whatever your reason for choosing a home visit, we'll adapt the appointment to the person in front of us.
Our service is particularly appreciated by those who...
Most home earwax removal appointments are carried out by one clinician.
We've deliberately chosen a different approach.
Working as a two-person team means one of us can focus entirely on the clinical procedure while the other provides reassurance, communication, positioning, practical support and documentation.
It's a model developed through years of working together in frontline healthcare, and one that's particularly valuable for people who appreciate a calmer, more supported appointment.
Of course, not everyone needs that additional support - and that's absolutely fine. Many of our patients simply enjoy the comfort and convenience of being treated at home, while our two-person approach helps make appointments smooth and efficient.
DOING
THINGS
DIFFERENTLY
WHY WE CHOOSE A TWO-CLINICIAN APPROACH.
Earwax often gets a bad reputation, but the truth is that a little earwax in the right place is perfectly normal and plays an important role in protecting the ear. The problem is that, for some people, earwax becomes troublesome.
Every appointment begins with a thorough assessment of your ears using a video endoscope. We will only ever recommend removing earwax when it has become troublesome or, prevents us from carrying out a proper examination of the ear or is contributing to our aim of preventative healthcare rather than solely reactive.
If earwax removal is appropriate, we'll choose the most suitable treatment method for you. Whether that's microsuction, irrigation or manual instruments, our recommendation will always be based on what's safest and most appropriate for your individual needs.
If earwax isn't the cause of your symptoms, we'll explain our findings, answer any questions and advise on the most appropriate next steps.
TRUSTED ADVICE. APPROPRIATE TREATMENT. NO UNNECESSARY PROCEDURES.

OUR SERVICES
Covering North-London, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.
We typically visit patients within around 45 minute drive from Potters Bar... But if you're outside this area, please get in touch - we'll always see if we can help
Most of our services involve us bringing our clinic to you. However, we do have pop-up clinics which can be booked online here.
We also like to try and fit in some free earwax checks within the community as we know many ear issues start as little niggles which often don't feel big enough to visit a GP - so to help the community and our GP practices, we do these whenever we can (view Pop-Ups for details).
How a Home Visit Works
WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY...
Meeting us will go something like this...
Question time
Before AND throughout your appointment, we'll work at a pace that's comfortable for you, explaining each step and answering any questions along the way.
We look in your ears
Every appointment begins with a thorough assessment of your ears using a video endoscope to determine whether earwax removal is appropriate.
Discuss & treat
If treatment is recommended, we'll explain our findings and use the most suitable method for your ears, whether that's microsuction, irrigation or manual instruments (or a combination)
Discuss findings & Aftercare
Once treatment is complete, we'll talk you through our findings, show you images of your ears if you'd like to see them, and discuss any appropriate next steps.
Signposting
If earwax isn't the cause of your symptoms, we'll explain what we've found and advise on the most appropriate next steps.

WHY WE STARTED THE EARWAX LADIES
OUR STORY
Earwax Ladies was founded by Donna and Gemma, bringing together years of frontline healthcare experience and a shared passion for delivering high-quality care in people's own homes.
Having worked together for many years, we've built our service around the values that mattered most to us – taking the time to listen, treating every patient as an individual and providing care that's calm, professional and reassuring.
Working in people's homes has always felt like a natural fit for us. It allows us to deliver treatment in familiar surroundings, adapt to individual needs and build the kind of rapport that's often difficult to achieve in a busy clinic environment.
Whether we're visiting someone at home, supporting residents in a care home or seeing patients at one of our community pop-up clinics, our aim is always the same: to provide honest, professional earwax removal with kindness, respect and expertise.
Care first
Always patient
Always smiling
HELPING PEOPLE STAY CONNECTED.
WHY DOES EARWAX REMOVAL MATTER?
Many people assume earwax removal is simply about improving hearing. Sometimes it does, but not always.
Removing troublesome earwax is often the first step towards a clear examination of the ear. It allows us to properly assess the ear, may relieve symptoms and helps us decide whether further assessment or treatment might be needed. It also promotes preventative healthcare rather than solely reactive.
Troublesome earwax can contribute to symptoms, interfere with hearing aids, prevent us from examining the ear properly, or make it difficult to determine what's causing a problem.
Some people benefit from earwax removal regularly, others only occasionally, and some rarely or never need it.
Our role is to assess your ears, remove earwax where appropriate, and provide honest advice if earwax isn't the cause of your symptoms.
